4.4.17

In celebration of National Poetry Month, I am inviting several poet friends to join me in my daily endeavor of paying poetic attention to the world. This week I am sharing the practice with dear friend Kathy Couch. Some of you might remember our year long collaboration How We Share the Sky. (on Instagram as #howwesharethesky)
Follow her on Instagram (@kccouch) for inspiration, light, delight and reminders to #resist and #imagine.

may we learn how to weather
by extending our reach
like a starfish, in every direction.
may we stay open
heart pierced through
by what we witness.
may this hold us up.
may we insist on it.
patina means i see you,
means i will not leave your side.

Blessed be the day
when you find yourself
at the bottom
knowing just what to do
knowing just now
to allow
all that the signs
have to show
