In celebration of National Poetry Month, I am inviting several poet friends to join me in my daily endeavor of paying poetic attention to the world. This week I am sharing the practice with dear friend Kathy Couch. Some of you might remember our year long collaboration How We Share the Sky. (on Instagram as #howwesharethesky)
Follow her on Instagram (@kccouch) for inspiration, light, delight and reminders to #resist and #imagine.

i’m making a list
of one word poems
see
prayers so powerful,
they aren’t shorthand,
but whole-hand
open
palm up,
cupped gently
offering sweet murmurs
of assistance

Oh Light,
that I might
spend each immeasurable day
sun-like

tracing
a circle
around every sacred thing
