what is weathered inside you,
what has been battered, arrived broken
to a rocky shore of relentless rain
and winds that rip and scream,
what has braved without shelter
the blisters of a blinding sun,
and the naked ache of darkness,
oh fist-sized steadfast enduring heart,
show us what it means
to ride out the storm.
